Next month, in our Wild and Wise Feminine Circle, we will be making magic in the area of self-care. We are gonna deconstruct and maybe destroy some beliefs we have about self-care that undermines our creative capacity to craft the life we truly want. And we will shift into new juicy ways to nurture our life so there is more of the vibrant version of ourselves to give.
And one of the things we will talk about is our morning rituals. Because how we start our day matters. Because you want to start your day feeling the way you want to feel, whether it be vibrant, peaceful or joyful.
(So yeah, this is like a seduction of sorts. I wanna show you a little something something that you may like (this post) so you will realize you may want the whole package after all (joining the Circle!)
They are great lists except they mostly center around this idea of formulaic productivity. Do A + B = C. Done! The intention mostly is to get shit done. And there is nothing wrong with that, I love getting shit done!
But I want to propose a twist: wherein we wake up and intentionally choose to feel Alive. Amazing. Grateful. You pick.
The key question to crafting a morning ritual you love is: How do I want to feel today? What experience am I craving for? What kind of day do I want to create?
And then plan your day accordingly.
Create your ideal way of how to start your day that puts you in the feeling you desire most. You want to feel peaceful? Take a moment and visualize what that looks like. See with your mind’s eye the details that make up a peaceful morning for you and your household. What are you doing? How are you responding to your children? What’s your mood like? What’s the pace like?
And then align yourself with the energy of what you visualize. Write it down if you like. Now ask God/The Universe for what you desire. And then let go of how it’s going to happen. If you stay in that energy of how you want to feel and allow yourself to receive the answer, your Inner Knowing (Spirit) will direct and guide you in how to accomplish that.
Now, you can of course skip all that and just head straight to making a list of what you want to accomplish for the day but just give it a try and see how it shifts things for you when you start crafting your day based on how you want to feel. And then get that shit done with that in mind. 🙂
So to recap (or to make it into one of those 5 Steps to Creating the Perfect Morning Ritual)
- Ask yourself how you want to feel and experience in the mornings.
- Visualize, get into the energy of what you conjure in your imagination and ask God/Universe to make that a reality.
- Let go of how that gets answer but stay in that energy of how you want to feel. Act as if you are already receiving it.
- Trust in your Inner Knowing/Spirit to give you guidance in allowing your desire to unfold.
- And then go ahead with your Get Shit Done list while staying in that energy, that feeling and the vibe of the experience you crave.
If your morning doesn’t magically shift after that, I don’t know what will!
This is the kind of stuff we talk about in our Wild and Wise Feminine Circle, starting June 7. Moms (and moms at heart) gather for 4 weeks and make all sorts of shift in how we take care of ourselves. We’ll look at our beliefs, habits, patterns and move towards a more feminine-honoring ways to live. If this resonates, make sure you save your spot by clicking –>>> here!

I like to take it slow in the morning. And I like to feel nourished first thing when I wake up (and being the pregnant mama bear that I am, this means a BIG breakfast!) My daughter, on the other hand, is ready to play and create and make a mess. And so the kitchen becomes my altar and my pots and pans my tools for meditation. I prepare a grand breakfast most of the time, as a way to honor my desire for nourishment and slow. It helps me get into my body, into sensation. My daughter gets her free time to play and do as she pleases. (My husband in the meantime gets ready for work.)
We break the fast together, clear the dishes and then transform our dining table into our homeschool table for our morning art. My daughter often starts to work on a creative project of her choice while I either journal, doodle, write out affirmations, draw Tarot cards, etc. I weave my art with soul-work while getting to witness my daughter’s own creative unfolding. It’s one of the best things about our choice to homeschool/unschool. We then head to the living room to read our chapter books (or some days listen to an audio version.)
Afterwards, the stories we read or listen to inspire her to work on another project and I am left with some time to work on my business. Somedays, she works on online language arts or math games while I do some of my own online work. And then the rest of the day is either spent at her drama class twice a week, a playdate with friends, errands and chores and some time for nature exploration.
It’s not always smooth-sailing but we love it because it’s the life we choose to create. And crafting our mornings with intention get us started in the right energy and vibe.
