(I wrote this poem about a month or so ago.
For myself and fellow sojourners coming of the cocoon and stepping into your brilliant badass self.)
She wore a sweet yellow dress
For the very first time.
She glowed and glistened,
spreading summer breeze
with every sway of the hips
and with every slow step
on the humid concrete sidewalk,
leaving behind a trail of the woman
she had always been
but never knew.
She was like sun as every bit as moon
and she finally shone brilliantly
as the day she was born.
