Note: I’m currently on break while I take care of my little one and re-imagine a new way to offer movement classes that best fits my life! Make sure you are on my newsletter so you can get updates about future classes. (Sign up –>> here!) In the meantime, check out Jennifer Lucero Earle’s Nia classes in Ballard as well as her very own Arcana Dance.
Keep dancing! xxx Vina
Movement as Medicine. Movement as Meditation.
Embodying our Truth. Choosing Sensation.
Choosing Joy. Expressing Our Full Creative Potential.
Breathing In Our Divine Self. And the Everyday Sensual.
Sweating our Prayers. Dancing Our Sorrows.
Discovering Who We Are. Communing With Others.
This is the Magic of Movement.
WHAT IS NIA?
Nia (Nee-ah) is a Joy-full practice that moves you from sole to soul. More than just another workout for your body, Nia is the perfect way to reconnect with your whole self through music, movement and magic. Oh yeah!
Nia is movement based on the Body’s Way. And it’s a practice based on your body’s way. You are invited to move at your own pace, your own level of intensity, your own body potential.
Nia rejects the idea of No Pain, No Gain that is still, sadly, prevalent when it comes to moving our bodies. And Nia puts Pleasure in her rightful place: in our everyday movement and being. Let Nia turn you on!
Nia is practiced with bare feet, body awareness, self-discovery, open heart, alert mind, and creative spirit.
Nia weaves the essence of Martial Arts (T’ai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido), Dance Arts (Jazz Dance, Modern Dance, Duncan Dance) and Healing Arts (Yoga, Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais Method) into one.
Nia is connection to your inner dancer, warrior-athelete and sacred healer.
Nia is a celebration of your body, your unique self, your design and capacity for Joy and Pleasure and Wonder and Transformation.
Nia blends form and freedom, combining choreography and freedance into a 60-minute experience of grounding and taking flight that flows into the rest of your day, and if you let it, the rest of your life.
